Ukraine, located in Eastern Europe, borders seven countries, including Poland and Russia, and is washed by the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. Its capital, Kyiv, is a city rich in history and culture. Ukrainian is the official language. The country is a member of numerous international organizations, such as the United Nations and the Council of Europe. Summers are warm, with temperatures around 25 °C, while winters tend to be chilly. The best time to visit is late spring or early autumn, when mild weather makes sightseeing especially enjoyable.
